Description

A terrace of four houses built in 1819 on Nelson Street, King's Lynn. The houses are constructed of red brick with gault brick facades, and have slate roofs. They are two storeys high. No. 14, at the north end, has three bays, while No. 20, at the south end, features a wide, basket-arched carriage entrance to the rear and a bay above it. Each house has a door to the left of its elevation, and is defined by wide pilaster strips on either side. The windows are sash windows. Original panelled doors survive at Nos. 16 and 20. Original sashes with glazing bars (without horns) are also present at Nos. 18 and 20; the remaining windows have glazing bars and horns. All windows are topped with gauged skewback arches. A blind window is located above each door, except at No. 14, where it is centrally positioned on the first floor. The terrace has a shallow gabled roof with stacks placed between the properties.
