Description
The Bank is a counting house built in 1782 for The Lynn Bank, founded by Richard Bartlett, Joseph Gurney, Joseph Taylor, and John Birkbeck. It is constructed of brick and has a roof that is not visible. The building is one storey high. The entrance is located in the east gable and features a pediment with double-leaf panelled doors beneath a seven-vaned fanlight set within a segmental arch. The doorcase is flanked by etiolated Ionic pilasters. To the left of the entrance is a plain recessed bay that contains one sash window with glazing bars. The north elevation has a short blind wall on both the right and left sides, with the west side now pierced by a late 19th-century sash window. The elevation also includes three rendered bays divided by Ionic pilasters, which separate three round-headed sash windows with glazing bars. A dentil cornice runs along the top of the building.
