Description
Woodgate House is a building dated 1726, as indicated in the spandrels of the panel above the door. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped smut-pantiled roof. The house has two storeys and an attic, with a facade that consists of nine bays. The windows are sashes with single glazing bars. The central doorway is adorned with a brick segmental pediment supported by Corinthian pilasters, while two additional brick pilasters with moulded capitals flank the entrance. The corners of the building are accentuated by rusticated brick pilasters. A moulded brick modillion eaves adds detail to the roofline. There is a later wing to the north that has a shaped gable, and the south side features three gabled dormers. A moulded brick string course runs along the first floor level, and the chimney stacks have diagonally set shafts.
