Description

Numbers 24, 26 and 28, including the Cock Inn, date largely to the 17th century, although they have been altered subsequently. Number 24 is a two-story brick building, painted, with two square windows on the first floor. It has pantile roofing, a square-headed dormer casement, a tall chimney on the right side, and a wooden shop front with pilasters. Number 26 is also brick and painted, featuring a segmental-headed dormer. It has asbestos slates and windows with glazing bars and flat arches, with a tall chimney grouping with a larger chimney adjoining the Cock Inn. Number 28 is stuccoed, lined, and painted, with pantiles and a window in the south gable. It has a newly rendered chimney on the left side, a molded first-floor band, and two flush three-light casements. A central door is accompanied by a fanlight and casements on each side.
