Description

Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with a mid-19th century range added to the west. It features a timber frame that is plastered, with the east gable wall faced in 20th century brick and a pantile roof, which is hipped at the west end. The building has two storeys and attics, following a two-cell lobby entrance plan. The south elevation has a central doorway with a 20th century door beneath a canopy. There are two replaced ground floor casements and five small panel casements on the first floor, along with two attic dormer casements. A central axial brick stack is present.

On the north elevation, there is a single storey outshut made of flint with red brick dressings and a red pantile roof, featuring various 19th century casements. Inside, there is a four-centre arched brick fireplace, a winder stair against the stack, and some early 18th century two-panel raised, fielded doors. The two main ground floor bridging beams have simple stop-chamfered edges. The roof is likely from the mid-19th century.

The west range is constructed of gault brick with a hipped roof and asbestos cladding. It has two storeys and a symmetrical three-bay facade with a central doorway featuring a six-panel door and a single-pane rectangular over-light. The windows are 12-pane sashes with glazing bars, set under flat rubbed and gauged brick arches. There is a dog-leg staircase with a wreathed handrail.
