Description
A row of three houses, now offices, was built in the 18th century and altered in the 20th century. The front (north) elevation is timber-framed and weatherboarded, painted white, with a stuccoed first floor on the east side. The rear (south) elevation has dark staining to the lower part, partly underbuilt with brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern, featuring shallow pilaster buttresses. The roof is tiled with interlocking brown tiles, hipped at the north end, and includes two brick chimney stacks topped with yellow and orange clay pots.
The two-storey front has a scattered arrangement of windows on both the ground and first floors. These include 2 and 3-light casements, some with divided glazing, horizontal bars, or multiple small panes. There are three flush-panelled doors, each set beneath a weatherboard head. The eastern end is splayed and features a 2-light casement with glazing bars on the first floor and a flush-panelled door on the ground floor. The interior has not been inspected.
The building faces the River Lea Navigation, near its junction with the River Lea, and possesses group and townscape value within its surroundings and alongside its neighbours.
