Description

Farm buildings, dating from about 1900, built for the Pearson family’s Brickendonbury estate. The buildings are constructed of red brick with blue brick detailing around blind arcades and openings. They have machine-made red tile roofs supported by steel lattice trusses. This complex forms part of an unusual model farm layout, intended as the headquarters for the estate’s bailiff. The group includes a long, single-storey cowshed, running east-west across the roadway from the west end of the barn, and a lower stable range extending south, facing east onto the roadway. The stables have stable doors and iron windows with small panes.
