Description
Wickham Hall Farmhouse is a timber-framed farmhouse, dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, with 19th-century additions. It has an L-shaped layout and an old red tile roof. The north range has four bays and features modern casement windows. The eastern two bays have a jettied first floor supported by curved consoles. The western two bays show a 16th-century timber frame with a lower roofline and a brick chimney stack consisting of multiple diagonal shafts at the joint. The interior retains much exposed timber framing, along with two Tudor brick chimney pieces. The western range has modern pargetting and casements set within 19th-century brickwork. A long brick and weatherboarded barn adjoins the farmhouse to the south. Within the garden are a well and a 19th-century cast iron hand pump. The farmhouse combines with the barns and outbuildings to form an attractive group.
