Description
The Hunting Box is a stable building located to the north, with red brick walls marking the northern, southern, and western boundaries. It dates from the 17th century or earlier and is constructed of brick with a plain tiled roof. The main range is two storeys high and features a projecting gabled staircase enclosure on the south side, along with a later projecting gabled wing to the north. The main roof slopes down to an outshut on the northern elevation. The building has casement windows and a central chimney stack. Inside, there are two small inglenook fireplaces, one of which includes a bread oven, and a well-crafted newel staircase. To the north is a stable block from the 18th century, also made of brick with a tiled roof, featuring lead-covered canopies over the stable doors. The boundary wall is made of good red brick and has been partially rebuilt.
