Description
Goldstones is a timber-framed and plastered house located on Radwinter Road in Ashdon, built around 1600, though it has undergone significant renovations and alterations. The house has two storeys and attics, with the upper storey jettied across the entire front. At the south end, there is a cross wing featuring a carved bressummer and carved bargeboards. The ground storey is faced in brick and there are four windows with modern casements. The north end includes two two-storeyed bays. The roof is tiled and hipped at the north end, featuring two hipped dormers and a large central chimney stack that has been rebuilt. Additionally, there is a large external stack at the south end, which has two square shafts set diagonally on a rectangular base and has also been rebuilt.
