Description

The Gilbey Memorial, erected in 1896 by Sir Walter Gilbey of Elsenham Hall in memory of his wife, is located on High Street in Elsenham. This octagonal structure features a domed roof topped with a ball finial and is supported by columns that rest on a brick base approximately 3 feet high. The memorial served as the village pump until mains water was introduced to the area.
