Description

This funerary monument, dating from the 19th century, is located 10.5 metres west of the northwest corner of the tower of the Church of All Saints in Harwich. It commemorates the Bagshaw family and is constructed from stone with a cubic base and canted corners. The main structure features an irregular stone octagon, a moulded cornice, and cinquefoil-headed recesses, topped with a dome finial. The monument is set on two weathered steps and a plinth, and is surrounded by low wrought-iron railings adorned with cinquefoils and fleurs-de-lys at the corners. John Bagshaw was an entrepreneur associated with Dovercourt New Town.
