Description
Creeksea Place is a significant 16th-century red brick house set within a 30-acre park. The original construction was completed in 1569, as indicated by a date on an original rainwater head located in the north wing. The house originally consisted of three or four ranges surrounding a courtyard, but the south range was destroyed in 1740, leaving only the east and north wings. The east wing was rebuilt in the 19th century on the foundations of the earlier structure. The north range retains several original features, including windows, chimneystacks, and an original staircase on the south side. The main block of the house is two storeys high, with a one-storey and attic subsidiary range extending to the west. The windows are characterized by brick mullions and transoms, featuring lattice leaded lights. The roof of the lower block is tiled and includes four gabled dormers. The interior also contains a number of original features.
