Description
Arabin House is a late 16th or early 17th century house that was remodelled around 1800. The front of the house is stuccoed and three storeys high, with a cornice and blocking course along the top. A slightly projecting central section is flanked by three sash windows on each floor, with glazing bars in the reveals and pediments supported by consoles above. Louvered shutters are fitted to the windows. In the mid-19th century, two-storey wings were added, containing two windows on the left and one window on the right. A modern, segmentally bowed extension with a glazed front and flat roof now occupies the full width of the ground floor, obscuring the original central entrance. The original entrance features a traceried fanlight, pilasters, an entablature and an open pediment. A Neo-Georgian doorway of similar design has been added to the left wing. Arabin House forms a group with its ancillary buildings.
