Description
Olivers is a 15th-century house that has been extensively altered and extended in the 17th and 18th centuries. It is two storeys high, with cellars and attics. The mid-18th century red brick facade on the west and south fronts features a parapet wall and a red plain tile hipped roof. The west front has a range of seven double-hung vertical sliding sash windows with glazing bars set in gauged arches, with three central bays featuring semi-circular stucco heads. There are dentilled string courses and a semi-circular Doric porch. The west front also includes four hipped dormers with 19th-century casements that have glazing bars. The south front has five double-hung vertical sliding sash windows with glazing bars from the 18th century. A large central red brick chimney stack from the early 17th century has diagonal shafts. At the rear, there are timber-framed wings, partly dating from the 15th century. A 19th-century red brick boundary wall surrounds the property, with gate piers topped by stone dogs.
