Description
The tombstone of Richard Moss, dating from 1760, is located 5 meters north of the nave of the Church of St Mary the Virgin in Brentwood. Made of limestone, it features an inscription dedicated to Richard Moss, who was a Citizen and Merchant-Taylor of London. The stone showcases an unusual variety of motifs in low relief, including an angel with a trumpet, a crown in hand, an hourglass, a snake biting its tail, a book, and clouds. It has a moulded pediment supported by scrolled supports. The tombstone measures 0.70 meters in width and stands 1.27 meters above the ground.
