Description

This is a garden wall dating from the 18th century, located on the east side of Roden House in Brentwood. The wall is constructed of red brick, featuring some burnt headers, and measures 5.4 meters long and 2.5 meters high. It has central and eastern end piers that are adorned with cyma and echinus mouldings, topped with square capitals and Portland stone coping. The section of the wall between the piers has stone coping that is shaped to match the piers. Additionally, the upper part of the wall between the central pier and the house to the west has been rebuilt in red brick and finished with a thin concrete coping. This wall, along with Roden House, forms a cohesive group.
