Description

The Bakery is an 18th century cottage, or possibly earlier. It is timber-framed and has been plastered, with a thatched roof. The building has three bays facing southwest, featuring an external stack at the left end and an internal stack at the right end. It is a single storey with attics. A lean-to extension with a slate roof runs along the full length of the rear and rounds the left end, extending to the front and forming an L-plan. The front of the building has two 20th-century casement windows, along with two more set in gabled dormers. A half-glazed, four-panel door is situated within a lean-to porch roofed with handmade red plain tiles. The stack on the right also has similar tiles. The front of the left extension, which was formerly a bakery, has one 20th-century casement window and a plain boarded door. The interior has not been inspected. The listing recognizes the building's group value.
