Description
Deep Well House, located on Barley Road, is a house dating from the late 17th century or 18th century, with extensions added in the late 18th century. The building is timber-framed and plastered, topped with plain tiled roofs. It features four gable end stacks for both the original structure and the extensions. The central block is two storeys tall with attics, while the wings to the north and south are one storey with attics and have rear outshuts. The eaves cornices are coved and plastered. There are six gabled dormer casement windows, two on the first floor and seven on the ground floor, along with three glazed doors. The main entrance is on the east elevation. Inside, some ceiling beams are exposed. Additionally, there is a well to the east, on the boundary of the churchyard, which is said to be 280 feet deep, although it is not listed.
