Description
Berghane Hall is a house dating from the early 18th century, which has been extended at the southeast end and on the southwest front. It is constructed of red brick with a slate roof featuring a parapet gable end supported by kneelers, some of which have been repaired. The building has a wood modillion eaves cornice and flush end stacks. It is a double pile structure with a basement, two main storeys, and an attic. There is a moulded brick plat band between the storeys that runs around the sides of the house. The symmetrical north elevation has seven eighteen-pane hung sashes with thick glazing bars set in gauged brick arches. The central doorway is approached by a modern flight of ten steps that replaced the original. The interior has not been seen. Berghane Hall was built by John Watson, who died in 1724.
