Description

The Old Vicarage is a former vicarage built in 1852. It is constructed of gault brick with a hipped slate roof, featuring a modillion eaves cornice. The south front has four recessed sash windows with a central glazing bar. Flanking this are two splayed bays with two similar sash windows at ground floor level. The main entrance is on the east front, originally with a portico, now accessed by four stone steps with curved wrought iron balustrades. A later doorcase features fluted pilasters, an entablature, and a broken pediment, leading to a semi-circular arched doorway. The door itself consists of six raised and fielded panels with a fanlight containing radiating glazing bars. The Norris Museum Photographic Collection, St Ives, holds photographic records of the building.
