Description

This is a 17th-century building comprising two properties, Nos. 46 and 47, on Post Street, Godmanchester. It is timber-framed and rendered with a tile roof and a plaster cove cornice. The upper storey of the building juts out over the street, supported by heavy, shaped brackets; a pair of these brackets, topped with pediments, sits above each doorway, although the right-hand one is now missing. The building contains 6-panel doors set within moulded architraves. The upper floor has six windows: No. 46 has old casements, while No. 47 has sliding sash windows. The ground floor has five windows, with two paired casements and a tripartite window in the centre. A brick stack is also present.
