Description
The Village Hall, originally a school and school-house, was built in 1728 using funds from the bequests of Mrs. Frances Towers, who died in 1711, and Rev. Richard Hill, who died in 1721. The building is constructed of clunch, which is rendered and painted, featuring original red and yellow brick gable end walls. It has a tiled roof with a sawtooth eaves cornice and end parapets. The structure is one storey with attics and includes one dormer, which is from the 20th century and may have replaced an earlier dormer in the same location. There is an unmoulded band above segmental arches that lead to two later three-light casements and a central doorway.
