Description
Six Mile Bottom Windmill is a post mill that was constructed without side girts, indicating it was built before 1600. It was rebuilt around 1846 and features an earliest carved date of 1764. The windmill is weatherboarded and currently does not have sails. It has a round tower made of local red brick and includes two opposing boarded doors. Inside, the originally plastered interior contains two grindstones, a cast iron sail shaft from 1874, and various fittings. There is also a 19th-century wooden hoist and bins. The windmill was under restoration in 1983.
