Description
Clare Bridge, part of Clare College, was built in 1640 by Thomas Grumbold. It is constructed from Ketton stone ashlar and features a three-span design in the Early Renaissance style. The bridge has a balustrade topped with ball finials and includes carved relief panels on the pedestals. It was restored in 1969 and is recognized as the oldest bridge in Cambridge.
