Description

Street lamp known as a Richardson Candle, designed exclusively for Cambridge City by Sir Albert Richardson in 1957, and manufactured by the REVO electrical company. The street lamp comprises a vertical, tubular lantern of translucent glass, containing fluorescent tubes. The lantern has a simple cast-iron capping and base, and is mounted on a slim, fluted column of bronze coloured cast-iron.

The lamp is located outside the north elevation of the Grade II listed Pitt Building designed in 1831 by Edward Blore, and directly in front of a pair of K6 telephone kiosks (Grade II listed).
