Description
Whewell's Court at Trinity College consists of two main courts, with a third court formed by the boundary walls. The western court was constructed between 1856 and 1860, while the eastern court was built from 1865 to 1868. Both were designed by A. Salvin, with assistance from the Master of Trinity, William Whewell. The buildings are faced with stone and exhibit a Gothic architectural style, featuring three storeys and numerous gables, along with pointed windows that have two, three, and four lights. The eastern court includes Elizabethan-style bay windows added by W.D. Caröe in 1908. Additional alterations were made to the south side of the western court in 1897. The roofs are covered with slate.
