Description

The Crescent, numbers 4 to 14, is a group of three pairs of red brick houses built in 1825. They have Welsh slate roofs and parapets. Each house has three first-floor and two ground-floor windows, each a three-light wooden mullion double-hung sash with flat rubber-backed arches. Trellis porches with concave hipped roofs and round arched doorways are present. The first-floor windows have cast iron "Gothic" balconettes. Number 10 has been altered, with the removal of glazing bars and the trelliswork from its porch. The central pair of houses features a pediment with a flush stone panel inscribed "Crescent 1825" within the tympanum. Stone copings and brick cornice details adorn the pediment and roof parapets. All doors feature ribbed surrounds, two fielded panels, a single glass panel, and a fanlight. Numbers 2 to 14 (even), and numbers 15 to 19 (odd) form a group.
