Description
St Mary's House, located at 15 Cardington Road, dates from around 1707. It is constructed of red brick and features an old tile roof with a modillion cornice, a parapet, and a pediment that contains a circular panel in the tympanum. The building stands three storeys tall with a slight central projection and has a symmetrical facade with two sets of double-hung sash windows on each side of the central entrance, all set in reveals. There are bands at the floor levels. The entrance consists of a six-panel door, with four fielded panels and two flush panels, framed by fluted Roman Doric pilasters and a fully detailed entablature, topped with an open pediment that includes an interesting fanlight in the tympanum. St Mary's House is part of a group that includes Nos 11 to 15 (odd).
