Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in 1609 by Edmund Ibbot for Catherine Dyer, as indicated by an inscription on a beam. It is located on the site of an earlier manor house. The building features colour washed brick and rough cast over a timber frame, topped with an old clay tile roof. It has a T-plan layout and is two storeys high, with later single storey brick additions extending from the south wing.
The northeast elevation showcases a brick ground floor and a rough cast first floor. The ground floor includes two sash windows and one pair of two-light casements, all set beneath cambered relieving arches. The first floor contains two leaded two-light casements and one two-light horizontal sash with glazing bars. There is a 20th-century front door set in a round-headed opening. A substantial projecting chimney breast is located to the left, and a decorative moulded frieze is positioned to the right of the door. The house is situated on a moated site.
