Description

Baron Villa is a house built in the late 18th century and altered around 1905 by Ernest Newton for Richard Biddulph Martin. It features coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and a plain tiled roof with gable-end parapets. The house has a large ashlar ridge stack to the east of the center and another ridge stack at the west end, which has two shafts and a moulded capping.

The building is two storeys high with an attic that includes dormers and has a total of four bays. The three-bay section has 16-pane sash windows with moulded architraves on both floors. There is a 20th-century gabled dormer with a 2-light casement and a central entrance that features a wide open pediment supported by engaged Doric columns. The door has six raised and fielded panels and a transom light with three glazing bars.

To the left, there is a hipped-roofed two-storey wing that includes a 2-light casement on both floors and a 5-light casement on the first floor at the angle with the main part. An attic light is located at the east gable end. Additionally, a single-storey wing adjoins the east side elevation and has a 2-light casement with a cambered head in its east gable end.
