Description

Lower Hook Farmhouse is an early 17th-century timber-framed house with painted brick infill, situated on Hook Common Road in Upton-upon-Severn. The building comprises two ranges with separate rooflines. It has plain tile roofs and is arranged over one storey with attics. Exposed timber framing is visible throughout. The north section features an end wall chimney stack, casement windows, and a 19th-century timber porch with a tiled roof. The lower south section incorporates a cross-passage and a ridge chimney stack. A gabled dormer is present on the west wall, and there is a low gable on the east wall. A tiled hood shelters the west entrance door. An east-facing, rear door is set within a Tudor arched surround, and is accessed by a plank door. The south-west wall is cased in painted brick, and casement windows are seen elsewhere. A brick cider house is attached to the south.
