Description

Grit Farmhouse, dating from the 18th century and said to be from 1719, is a two-storey building with attics and cellars, constructed of red brick and covered with tiles. The front features two projecting wings that have hipped gable ends with lead flashings and dormers. Between the wings is a central entrance doorway topped with a pediment. The windows are arranged in a 2-1-2 double hung sash configuration with glazing bars. There is a brick band running between the ground and first floors, as well as above the first-floor windows. The farmhouse has tall brick end stacks. Inside, there is an original fireplace surround and an interesting staircase.
