Description
Ram Hall is a 16th-century building featuring a symmetrical main block. The front is made of sandstone ashlar, while the gabled side elevations are constructed of red brick with sandstone ashlar ground floors. It has a tiled roof with stone coping on the gables and a red brick chimneystack with panels. The building is two storeys high and has a moulded band on the first floor. There are three triple light lattice casement windows with flush chamfered surrounds and stone mullions. The central doorway has a tall stone lintel, slightly chamfered reveals, and a boarded nail-studded door. Inside, the hall boasts moulded beams, original stone fireplaces—one featuring a carved chimneypiece—and an early staircase that is said to conceal a hiding place. Ram Hall and the adjacent barn are recognized as a group.
