Description

Blythe Cottage is an early 17th-century building located on the south side of Barston Lane. It features a timber frame with later red brick nogging and an old tiled roof with side gables. The cottage has two storeys and an attic, with lattice casement windows. The ground floor includes canted bays with tiled roofs, while the first floor has canted oriel bay windows. A wooden gabled porch adds to the entrance, and there is a lower back wing. A distinctive rusticated arched panelled red brick chimneystack is situated astride the roof ridge.
