Description
The Saracens Head Public House is a mid to late 19th-century building located on Stone Street. It is constructed of red brick with a stuccoed plinth and stands three storeys tall. The façade features four casement windows set in shaped stone surrounds, each with segmental heads and square cornices. There are plain pilasters on either side of the building. The stone pilaster doorcase has a segmental head and contains a modern door and fanlight. The ground storey windows are modern casements that are designed to be in keeping with the overall style. The building has an eaves cornice, a parapet, and a low pedimental feature at the centre. The gabled end to the north incorporates part of an earlier rubble wall. The building is included for its group value with Nos 18 to 21 (consecutive), No 21A, and No 22.
