Description
Beechwood Hotel, originally known as Beechwood Cottage, is a building from the 18th century that features brickwork encasing an earlier timber-framed hall. It was altered in the 16th or 17th century with the addition of a first floor. The hotel has a tiled roof with two parallel ridges, the taller 18th-century ridge at the front and a lower medieval ridge at the back. It stands two storeys high and has a first-floor band. The exterior includes three triple light wood mullioned casement windows and two ground floor canted bay windows, along with a brick eaves cornice. Inside, wattle and daub is visible on the first floor. Beechwood Hotel, along with Nos 1 to 5 Akon House, forms a group of buildings.
