Description
The Parish Church of Emmanuel, located on Walford Road in Moseley, was built between 1900 and 1901 by architect W H Bidlake and remains unfinished. The church is constructed of red brick with flush dressings and features a slate roof. It has a two-bay nave with passage aisles and is complemented at the east end by transepts and a chancel, which has a five-light east window. The entrance is positioned diagonally in the angle of the aisle and the north transept, leading to a polygonal bell turret adorned with open work tracery and a slender fleche, creating a distinctive feature at the corner of Walford and Golden Hillock Roads. Inside, the incomplete nave includes two bays of passage aisles.
