Description
The Red Lion Public House is an early 17th century timber-framed building with an early 19th century stucco facade. It stands three storeys high and features a three-window facade. The square timber framing is complemented by red brick infill panels at the rear, which are covered by render on the gable wall. The building has a pitched roof with gabled ends, slate on the front and plain tiles on the rear. A wide projecting moulded wooden eaves cornice is present at the front. To the left, there is a wide carriage entrance with wooden doors. The front also includes three early 20th century panelled doors and two windows. The first and second floors have three sash windows in cased frames, adorned with rusticated flat arches and glazing bars. At the rear, there is a short three-storey wing and a lower two-storey painted brick range featuring a dentil eaves cornice, with plain tile roofs and gabled ends.
