Description

Camphill Farmhouse is a timber-framed house dating from the late 16th or early 17th century, with red brick infill panels and a stone plinth. It has a steeply pitched hipped plain tile roof with gables at the rear. The house is two storeys high and has a two-by-two window arrangement, featuring two- and three-light casement windows with glazing bars. A lean-to porch with a double boarded and studded front door is covered by a tile roof. The original brick ridge chimney stacks have been rebuilt. Gabled wings extend from the rear. The interior features ledged and boarded doors, wide oak floorboards, chamfered beams with end stops, original partition walls, and a barrel vaulted cellar. The property is situated on the edge of an Iron Age hill-fort.
