Description

Abbotsford House, located at No 1 and No 2 New Street, is a late 18th-century building characterized by its red brick construction and stone dressings. The structure stands three storeys tall and features two-storey angular bays with three lights on each side. The side windows are adorned with keyblocks and lintels, while the central windows are arched. There is one intermediate window framed in a moulded architrave, and the upper side windows have semi-circular heads. The entrance is highlighted by a stone doorcase with an open pediment supported by Tuscan columns. The building has quoins at all angles, decorative bands, and dentilled stone modillion eaves with pediments on either side, topped with old tiles.
