Description
The Walled Vegetable Garden, located approximately 100 meters north of Weston Hall, dates from the 18th century and features a heated wall and heating lodges, which were adapted for heating in the mid-19th century. The garden is constructed from red brick with stone dressings and measures approximately 130 meters square. The heated wall runs east-west through the center, while the outer wall stands about 3 meters high and is topped with stone coping. The wall ramps down to wrought iron entrance gates on the south side. The heated wall serves as a perimeter with a similar central break for the entrance. To the west section, there are single-storey lodges with pedimented fronts, featuring a stone string at the springing level of the arch-topped and keyed casement, along with an oculus in the tympanum. Greenhouses are not included in this listing.
