Description

The Church of St Modwen is a parish church built between 1719 and 1726 by William and Richard Smith of Tettenhall, with completion by Francis Smith. It features a Palladian style and is constructed of ashlar stone. The church has a nave with an east apse and a prominent west tower that consists of three stages, topped with a balustrade and urns. The exterior includes large semicircular-headed windows. Inside, there is a gallery and a 15th-century font. The church also houses a notable neo-classical organ case from 1771 and a monument to Lady Fowler, created by Sir Richard Westmacott in 1825.
