Description
Chastleton is a house dating from the mid to late 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It features pebbledash rendering and a timber frame, topped with plain tiled roofs. The building has an L shape, consisting of three units at the front and a cross wing at the rear. It is two storeys high with irregular window arrangements, all of which are 20th-century metal casements. There is a dentilled brick band at the first floor and a toothed eaves cornice. The entrance is located to the right, accessed through a 20th-century porch and door. There is an axial stack behind the ridge and an end stack on the left side. The half-timbered cross wing has two structural bays with fragmentary square panelling. It is one storey high with a dormer-lit attic, featuring 20th-century casements. There is an entrance to the left through a 20th-century extension and another entrance to the right. The building also includes 19th-century additions to the gable end of the cross wing and to the rear.
