Description

Gatacre Park is a mid-19th century house built of red brick with stone dressings, exhibiting architectural similarities to houses on the Calthorpe Estate in Edgbaston, Birmingham. The house features a heavy stone eaves cornice and stone string courses. The west front has a symmetrical facade of 1:2:2 bays. It has sash windows with glazing bars set within moulded stone architraves; the ground floor windows have cornice hoods supported on console brackets. The end bays project, and the porch bay on the right projects slightly further, topped with a parapet over the eaves cornice. The porch features a stone doorway with engaged columns and an entablature, incorporating a round arched doorway and a window above. On the east elevation is a large stone semi-circular bay window on the ground floor. A three-storey service wing extends to the north. The interior contains panelling, likely re-set from a previous house on the site.
