Description
The forecourt wall, located approximately 20 metres to the north-west of Ford House, dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a chamfered red sandstone coping. The wall is about 30 metres long and stands one metre high. It ramps up to square piers at each end, with the northern pier topped by a pyramidal sandstone cap and the southern pier featuring a concave stone cap, which may have originally had a globe finial. This wall is part of a longer stretch of 18th-century wall that surrounds the grounds of Ford House, including a short section connected to the stable block to the north and a larger section of garden wall to the south and east.
