Description
The garden wall, located approximately 24 metres south of Ford House, dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a chamfered red sandstone coping. The wall is about 150 metres long and 1.5 metres high, sloping down the side of the garden towards the southeast. There is a segmental-arched gateway aligned with the lower terrace, and a depressed-arched boarded door is situated at the southwest corner of the wall. At the west end, there is a square brick gate pier topped with a concave stone cap, which likely originally had a globe finial. This section of the wall is part of a larger expanse of 18th-century walls surrounding the grounds of Ford House, which includes a short section leading to the forecourt.
