Description

The Embrey Memorial, located approximately 7 metres south of the Church of All Saints in Grinshill, is a chest tomb dated 1786. It is made of yellow and grey Grinshill sandstone ashlar. The tomb features recessed panels, corner piers, a moulded coved cornice, a concave top, and a large central urn with a stepped base. The urn has a fluted lower part, a rope-moulded band, and a fluted finial. It commemorates Robert Embrey, who died on 8 July 1786, along with other members of the Embrey family.
