Description
This is a row of three cottages and an adjacent house located on Holyhead Road in Shrewsbury. They are probably from the early 18th century but have been extensively restored. The buildings are constructed of brick and have plain tiled roofs. The cottages on the right are single-storey with attic dormers, originally designed as single-unit homes, though their layouts have since been modified. Number 3 is accessed through the house next door. Numbers 2 and 3 have added lean-to porches, while Number 1 features a simple door set in a cambered brick arch. Each cottage has 2-light casement windows with cambered brick heads on the first floor, and gabled dormers above. There are end wall and axial stacks present. Number 4, the larger building adjacent, is two storeys with an attic and has two parallel gables along with a short wing to the left. It features 3-light casement windows on each floor beneath the gables, 2-light casements in the attic, and an entrance located in the wing to the left. An axial stack is situated between the two gables.
