Description

The Key memorial is a chest tomb located approximately 1.5 metres south of the Church of All Saints in Grinshill. It dates from 1699 and is made of yellow and grey Grinshill sandstone ashlar. The tomb has a rectangular shape with a large pulvinated frieze and a deep moulded cornice. The top slab is inscribed with the words: "Here lyeth the Body / Of William Key Of / Grinshill Who Was / Buryed The 10th Of / April Anno Dom / 1699 BEING AGED 76".
